Shielding Design Plans
Alliance Medical Physics provides shielding design plans for Diagnostic Radiology rooms, ranging from single X-ray rooms to entire X-ray suites that include multiple imaging modalities. We provide services for renovations and new construction, and will work with your architects and contractors to advise best shielding design in compliance with the regulatory requirements of NCRP report 147. Furthermore, in order to ensure reliability of this critical Radiation Safety measure, all our shielding design services are provided and reviewed by a Board –Certified Medical Physicist.

Shielding Integrity Survey
After approval of the Shielding Design Plan by the State regulatory authority, it is required that a shielding integrity survey be performed to confirm that the shielding has been installed according to the approved design plan. Alliance Medical Physics supports our comprehensive Shielding plan service by providing post-design services including Shielding Integrity surveys as well as Radiation Safety Room Scatter surveys.

Radiation Safety Room Scatter Survey
Many State Regulatory authorities require a radiation safety room scatter survey upon the installation of new or relocated X-ray equipment. This survey is designed to ensure that existing barriers provide adequate radiation safety protection to occupationally exposed workers and members of the public.
